On the 6th of February 2026, the Spring Festival Reception hosted by the Chinese Consulate-General in Auckland was broadcast on CCTV-4 (CCTV Chinese International Channel), presenting viewers with vivid scenes of overseas communities celebrating the Chinese New Year.

In the broadcast programme, Boya Guzheng from Zheng’s Music Studio appeared in the performance segment of the reception. The music conveyed both the festive joy and energy of the season, while retaining the subtlety and expressive nuance characteristic of Eastern musical traditions. On an overseas New Year stage, it created a vivid and warmly resonant cultural impression. As an art form that transcends language, music allowed audiences to experience the blessings, emotions, and spirit embodied in traditional Chinese music.

Being featured on CCTV-4 represents a meaningful documentation of the Chinese New Year atmosphere abroad, while also bringing the art of the guzheng into a broader space of visibility and appreciation. The Spring Festival is not only a traditional Chinese celebration, but also an important window through which the world comes to understand Chinese culture. When the sound of the guzheng resonates overseas, and when such moments are recorded and shared, cultural connection unfolds naturally.
